General description of the works:
For a better link between the Ruegen island and the mainland, a new bridge was built across the Strelasund which separates Ruegen from the mainland. The foundation work for the 2nd Strelasund crossing was carried out between September 2004 and April 2007 by a Joint Venture with major support from Colcrete- von Essen

Special features of the site: Particular mention should be made of the fact that for the construction of the large foundation piles the Joint Venture had built a drilling catamaran, in order to be able to move with the drilling unit above the excavation pits on the water. |
