Heavy transports / Project cargoes

Heavy transports and Ro-Ro transports can be carried out with the self-propelled work vessels of Colcrete – von Essen.

Tugs and barges are available for towing jobs.

This method is favourable in coastal areas as transport by ship is more economical in many cases, but also with less bureaucratic and administrative restrictions, thus more time-saving than transport by road. For example, there are no special permits required for loads over 36 tons or for transports with excess width or length which typically have to be obtained up to 6 or 7 weeks prior to transport.

A further advantage includes ships or pontoons that are equipped with cranes, which can independently unload the cargo at the point of delivery without the need for costly external cranes.
